Food waste collection is set to come to parts of Reading in October this year, with a full list of roads released, showing which houses are in line to get the new bins first.
Following delays due to the coronavirus lockdown, a proposed new schedule has been revealed by Reading Borough Council (RBC), which will be voted on next week.
The new plan aims to start the trial ‘early adopters’ service on October 5, 2020, followed by the main roll-out on February 1 next year – four months later than initially planned.

The final 14,000 flats in the town would then follow sometime in 2022.
Five areas have been chosen for the ‘early adopters’ trial phase, covering all types of properties within Reading, including those where collections are known to be challenging such as student accommodation, houses of multiple occupation and low level flats.
There is also one area included – Thames ward – which has households that should mostly present fewer issues to act as a comparison.
High rise flats in these areas will not be included in the trial roll-out.
