HUGES queues have backed up on the M4 after a crash which has closed the carriageway.
Highways England is reporting the crash to have happened eastbound between J13 for Newbury and J12 for Reading.

Police are on the scene and south central ambulance service has confirmed it is working with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance which has landed at the scene.

Traffic reports show queues are currently backed up on both sides of the carriageway, between Yattendon and Englefield.

It is also being reported that normal conditions are not expected until 6pm.
A statement from Highways England said: "Thames Valley Police is leading the response to this incident. Highways England has resources heading to the scene to assist. Due to the seriousness of the incident the closure is expected to remain in place throughout the evening peak."
It also provided details of a diversion route in place signed by a hollow circle.
