FIVE people in Tilehurst sustained burns after an incident 'involving a firework' last night, which reportedly startled neighbours.
South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) confirmed that it was called at around 1.32am this morning (July 31) to Corwen Road.
The incident has been linked locally to reports by neighbours of 'loud bangs' and the sound of an 'explosion' in the area.

Several nearby reported that they had been woken by loud noises in the early hours of the morning, and some have linked the incident with the fireworks.
Some also reported hearing 'screams'.
A SCAS spokeswoman said: "We were called at 1:32am, we sent one ambulance crew to assess five patients, just one required hospital treatment and was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital for further assessment and treatment."
Police have not confirmed that this incident was linked to the noise locals heard.
The extent of injury to the person who was taken to hospital has not been confirmed.
