ONE of the main roads into central Reading has been closed for emergency repairs.
Reading Borough Council reported that a diesel spillage has closed Oxford Road.

It happened between the junctions of Cheapside and West Street - adjacent to the Broad Street Mall.
Traffic is currently backed up in the area, and queues can be seen in both directions. Congestion is back to Battele Library.
The temporary road closure is in place to allow for emergency repairs this week.

The council has said it is due to reopen on Thursday morning and urged drivers to take alternative routes into and out of the town centre.
Buses have been diverted.
