HOMES across Tilehurst and nearby areas were left without any electricity after a powercut this morning.

Homes reported no power in various areas stretching across Tilehurst this morning.

Scottish and Southern Electric (SSE) reported that 44 customers were affected by the outage.

The outage was first reported at around 7am, and was back on by 9am today.

SSE have said they are currently looking into the cause of the outage.

A spokesman for SSE said: "we would like to apologise to customers who have been affected by today's powercut.

"Thank you for your patience as our engineers worked hard to restore power as soon as possible."
