In a series of tweets, organisers announced that they would be unable to host the popular race event.
The post read: "The emails are on their way, and it is with sadness we have to announce the cancellation of the 2020 race.
"Despite our best efforts and those of the authorities, we will not be able to host the race as planned.
"All runners will now have their options emailed to them so please check the email account you used to enter the race with and choose the option best for you.
"If you have not had an email, please check the account is correct and/or check your spam folder.
"If this still proves fruitless, please send us a direct message here with the email address you entered with and we will investigate.
"If you have already deferred to 2021, you should have received an email acknowledgement this morning."

"As ever, thank you for your wonderful support and we can't wait to see you back on the start line!"
The race usually takes place in the town every spring, finishing in the Madejski Stadium.
Due to Covid-19, it was postponed until later this year but has now been cancelled.
