POLICE data has revealed Reading's most commonly reported crime.
Using figures throughout a 12-month period, (August 2019 - July 2020), violence and sexual offences has been shown as the most common crime reported.
During this period, 1,778 cases were reported to police in the central Reading area.

The Chronicle has delved into the other crime figures recorded throughout this period and have provided a summary of the most common crimes.
Five most commonly reported crimes from August 2019 - July 2020
1. Violence and sexual offences: 1,778 reported, accounting for 30.6 per cent of all crimes in this timeframe
2. 'Other theft': 612 reported, accounting for 10.5 per cent of all crimes
3. Anti-Social behaviour: 604 reported, accounting for 10.4 per cent of all crimes
4. Shoplifting: 497 reported account for 8.6 per cent of all crimes
5. Bicycle theft: 386 reported, accounting for 6.6 per cent of all crimes
