WE are almost two weeks into September, which means the darker evenings and shorter days are starting to draw in after a sunny summer of lockdown.
As the weather is getting colder and the leaves are beginning to drop, it is acceptable to become excited about all things autumn!

That's why we have rounded up a few of the nearby pumpkin patches for you to visit to kickstart your Halloween spirit.
1. Crockford Bridge Farm, Addlestone
Every October, the Pumpkin Festival opens in Crockford's Corner.
This is an American Style Pumpkin Patch sees thousands of different sized pumpkins displayed for sale on tables and hay bales.
This year, the farm is hoping to hold the festival in a Covid-secure way.
The Pumpkin Fields will be open for pumpkin picking on the following weekends:
Sat, October 3 & Sun October 4 (10am-5pm)
Sat, October 10 & Sun October 11 (10am-5pm)

2. Tolhurst Organic Partnership, Reading
Located here in Reading, Tolhurst, the company supplies in-season organic vegetables and fruit delivered to neighbourhoods weekly, via a Neighbourhood Rep’ scheme.
Almost all vegetables are harvested the day of delivery to guarantee their freshness.
Each October the company usually offers hundreds of pumpkins to choose from, so keep an eye on the website to find out when this year's event will take place.

3. Cobbs Farm Shop, Hungerford
The company farms mostly soft fruit in the summer with some vegetables, including squash and pumpkins in the autumn and asparagus and rhubarb in the spring.
Each October they offer a pumpkin carving session and the chance to pick your own pumpkins.
They haven't yet announced dates for this year, but watch this space to find out more.
