The lodge is split in two inside by a Perspex screen so residents can sit on one side and visitors on the other.
The furniture inside is the same as that inside inside the home and there is also air conditioning.
The care home's deputy manager Jodie Whatmore explained before the lodge was built residents with hearing impairments who met up with visitors outside struggled to hear because of the physical distance between them.
However, the lodge has a hearing loop and intercom so residents can hear their loved ones.
Ms Whatmore revealed when people are finished in the lodge they press a button and it cleans itself.
