This was to allow for resurfacing works to take place.
However, Highways England has since said the planned closure has been cancelled due to advice from the Met Office about the weather forecast this weekend.
There is a yellow weather warning in place between 3am and 8pm on Friday, October 2 until 6pm on Sunday.
Drivers are warned to beware of spray and flooding which could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
The Met office has also said 'there is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life'.
