STORM Alex has left a trail of destruction behind in Reading as areas remain submerged following the heaviest rainfall all year during the weekend.
More than a month's worth of rain was recorded in parts of the country as the storm battered towns on Saturday and Sunday (October 3 and 4).

Pictures show a flooded Emmer Green in Caversham as residents attempted to protect their homes from the damage.

Several other areas were flooded, including the car park at Vastern Court retail park.
More rain is expected throughout Berkshire for the rest of the week, with the heaviest predicted for Thursday and Friday, October 8 and 9.
