WE recently asked readers what the best place in Reading was to grab a drink, as well as their favourite kind of drinking establishment.
As a big town teeming with all kinds of bars and pubs, from popular chains to unique independents, it's no surprise that the town is full of readers who were keen to give their views on the best places the town has to offer.
RELATED: Reading pubs and bars: Which is the best?
Around 60 people voted in a poll asking 'Where do you prefer to enjoy a drink?'
Pubs were the clear winner, with 78 per cent of the votes.
This was followed by cocktails bars (14 per cent), then 'fancy' bars (eight per cent).
Responding to their favourite places to enjoy a tipple, there was no consensus - but this just means that Reading has a great variety on offer, with something to suit all tastebuds.
John Jones said: "Allied Arms, St Mary's Butts.
"Friendly staff, great garden and good selection of guest ales", while Kay Pennycott said: "Be at One! "From the security to the bar staff and cocktails - definitely the place to be.
"The staff seem to absolutely love their job, the really get involved and make the place lively."
Opting for a different kind of scene, Julie on Twitter said: "McDonald's - the coffee is fantastic and so are the morning shift at riverside."
Sarah Hurst said: "Used to like the Botanist until I stopped going out for drinks."

Although there's no clear winner, one certainty is that locals appreciate a good place to unwind with a cocktail or a beer, whether by The Oracle Riverside or at a country pub.
