CAMPAIGNING efforts to raise money for a teenage boy’s cancer treatment have stepped up a gear as his mum fears “he will not be here for much longer” if he doesn't receive further treatment.
Devoted mother and father Toni and Mark Ilsley and their teenage son Charlie are due to fly back to Mexico today (October 8) for more treatment after news his cancer has spread.
It is here Charlie from Emmer Green will have Immunotherapy injected straight into his spine.

The thirteen year old was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, the most high-grade brain tumour found in children when he was eight years old.
He flew to Mexico for potentially life-saving treatment in June but a follow up scan showed a “small progression” in Charlie’s spine and a little area in the back of his head.
Speaking of returning to Mexico, Toni said: “I don’t have a choice.
“If I don’t go he will not be here for much longer.”
She said the family need to raise at least £30,000 to cover the costs of flights, accommodation and treatment.
Supporters have rallied around Charlie to help raise money for his treatment costs.
Amy Deasy from Caversham Heights ran a virtual London Marathon for Charlie at the weekend with her husband Joe who cycled next to her.
Amy revealed she doesn’t know Charlie personally but said: “He’s captured the hearts of the whole of the community.”

This is the sixth marathon Amy has run but she said she has “never done one in the rain with the weather like that”.
She added: “With the puddles it was hard, but I kept thinking it’s nothing like Charlie has to go through.”
Speaking about Charlie she said “he’s the true hero”.
“If I can do that in a bit of rain it’s nothing as long as I can help with his fight against cancer”, she added.
Another supporter of Charlie’s also ran the marathon separately to raise money for him. Between them they raised £700 and counting.
The Chronicle has launched a campaign to help support the family.
