There are delays to residential road resurfacing works in Reading, which started earlier this month, due to wet weather.
A programme to resurface 63 roads started on October 2 and was due to be completed in March 2021 but some works have now been delayed, including two roads having to wait until next spring/summer.
Other works on main roads, which were delayed by Covid-19, have also now started.

Part of a £9 million scheme to fix Reading’s residential roads, the first phase of the residential road improvement scheme is being undertaken by RBC’s contractor Eurovia Infrastructure Ltd, with 63 roads to be improved by the end of March 2021.
Road resurfacing works on hundreds more roads will take place over the next three years.
Advance notice boards will go up on the roads to be resurfaced and residents will receive a letter two to three days before the work is carried out.
Cars will need to vacate the roads in advance of the works.
Any parked vehicles will be liable for a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and will be removed.
After a one to two week period when the roads will seem rough and gravelly whilst they are left to settle, the roads will be closed again so the contractor can return to sweep and paint the road markings on the new surface.
