A fast-food takeaway in Reading is looking to open to customers until as late as 4.30am.
The Mr Cod, by Cemetery Junction on 211 London Road, is seeking a ‘late night refreshment’ licence, which would allow it to serve food until:
- 4.30am on Fridays and Saturdays
- 3am on Thursdays
- 2.30am on Sundays
Mr Cod is a fast-food chain specialising in fish and chicken.

The London Road franchise’s normal opening hours are 11.15am to 12am, seven days a week.
However, all pubs, bars, restaurants and takeaways are currently only able to open until 10pm due to the Covid-19 curfew.
Representations in support or opposition to the application must be made by November 17 and should be sent in writing to Reading Borough Council, Licensing Section, Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Reading, RG1 2LU or via email to licensing@reading.gov.uk.
