THE MOST dangerous places in Reading have been revealed.
Crime stats for the town from the latest month available (September) shows exactly where many of the near 600 crimes took place - and which streets you may want to avoid.
A total of 593 crimes were reported in central Reading last month.

Police.UK reveals where the most crime took place, and a break down of every street and every specific area.
Most dangerous streets:
1. West Street (16 crimes in September)
A total of 16 crimes were reported in this area in September 2020.
Of these, the most common was bicycle theft (5), followed by violence and sexual offences (3), and other theft (3).
The remaining six crimes were classed by police as "other crime".
2. Cheapside AND Catherine Street (12 crimes each reported in September)
Throughout September, a total of 12 crimes were reported on or near Cheapside, with 12 also being reported on/near Catherine Street.
The most common crime in the month for Cheapside was violence and sexual offences (6).
For Catherine Street, criminal damage and arson was the most commonly reported crime in the period (5).
3. Oxford Road (11 crimes throughout September)
Oxford Road saw a total of 11 reported crimes throughout September.
The most common of these was antisocial behaviour.
4. Albany Road AND Walkers Place (10 crimes each reported in September)
Throughout September, a total of 10 crimes were reported on or near Albany Road, with 10 also being reported on/near Walkers Place.
The most common crime in the month for Albany Road was violence and sexual offences (6).
This was also the most common in Walkers Place, (5).
5. Battle Place (Nine crimes throughout September)
Battle Place saw a total of nine reported crimes throughout September.
The most common of these was violence and sexual offences (6).

Most dangerous areas in Reading
Police statistics also show crime levels in certain areas throughout September:
1. On/near shopping area: 50
2. On/near supermarket: 44
3. On/near parking area: 37
4. On/near nightclub: 31
