FOLLOWING the Prime Minister's announcement of a second national lockdown, many have flocked to Reading's supermarkets and stores to 'stock up' on items.
Pictures from Lower Earley's Asda store, in Chalfont Way, show empty shelves prior to the official news conference (Saturday, October 31) as rumours circulated about the upcoming announcement from Boris Johnson.

Shoppers could be seen crowding the food aisles over the weekend in an attempt to purchase items needed during lockdown, despite the fact that supermarkets and other essential shops will remain over throughout the month.

Queues of people could also be seen outside Reading's Primark store on Sunday (November 1) after it was officially confirmed that this would be the last weekend of such shopping until December 2, when it is hoped the second national lockdown will be lifted.
