NEW areas of Reading have seen a spike in Covid cases in the last week.
According to a Gov.UK map showing weekly increases and decreases in cases by area, four new parts of town have become 'high case areas'.

The map presents cases locally for the latest week available (last week, date ending November 12).
In this period, locations with a higher rate the week before, such as Kennett Island and Green Park, have seen a big drop in cases, and are no longer highlighted as 'high case' zones on the map.
Areas with the biggest increase throughout the week (in the seven days up to November 12) include:
Whitley Wood
Total: 15 cases during the week
Difference: This shows an increase of 8 from the previous week
Rate: 210.6
Lower Earley North
Total: 23 cases during the week
Difference: This shows an increase of 17 from the previous week
Rate: 226.7
Darker blue areas show a higher increase in cases
Woodley South
Total: 18 cases during the week
Difference: This shows an increase of 11 from the previous week
Rate: 248.5
Lower Caversham
Total: 20 cases during the week
Difference: This shows an increase of 12 from the previous week
Rate: 255.1
Six new areas have seen a particularly big drop in cases, or have maintained a low rate.

Southcote
Total: 8 cases during the week
Difference: This shows an decrease of 13 from the previous week
Rate: 92.6
Southampton Street & Redlands Road
Total: 8 cases during the week
Difference: This shows an decrease of 2 from the previous week
Rate: 76.6
Leighton Park area
Total: 9 cases during the week
Difference: This shows an decrease of 15 from the previous week
Rate: 94.2
Southlake
Total: 4 cases during the week
Difference: This shows an decrease of 1 from the previous week
Rate: 45.9

Caversham Balmore Park
Total: 7 cases during the week
Difference: This shows an increase of 2 from the previous week
Rate: 87.5
Caversham Heights
Total: Three or less (data is suppressed where there have been fewer than three cases in a seven-day period. This is to protect the privacy of individuals and prevent disclosure.)
Meanwhile, central Reading saw a total of 19 cases throughout the week, a drop of 14 cases.
Coley Park saw a total of 12, showing no change from the previous week.
