NEW areas of Reading have seen a spike in Covid cases in the last week.
According to a Gov.UK map showing weekly increases and decreases in cases by area, two new parts of town have become 'high case areas'.
Meanwhile, the town overall has seen a drop in cases, with seven locations in Reading recording far fewer cases.

The map presents cases locally for the latest week available (last week, date ending November 24).
Areas with the biggest increase throughout the week (in the seven days up to November 24) include:
Coley Park
Total: 23 cases during the week
Difference: Increase of 8 from the previous week
Rate: 264.5
Norcot north
Total: 18 cases during the week
Difference: Increase of 4 from the previous week
Rate: 225.8
Darker blue areas show a higher increase in cases
Seven new areas have seen a particularly big drop in cases, or have maintained a low rate. These include:
Lower Caversham
Total: Three cases during the week
Difference: Decrease of six from the previous week
Rate: 38.3
Caversham Heights
Total: Six cases during the week
Difference: Increase of one from the previous week

Reading Central
Total: 10 cases during the week
Difference: Increase of one from the previous week

Palmer Park
Total: 10 cases during the week
Difference: Decrease of 10 from the previous week
Rate: 94.6
Leighton Park
Total: Seven cases during the week
Difference: Decrease of 20 from the previous week

Difference: Decrease of 5 from the previous week
