1. Local hair salon among 'best Covid secure' in UK
Nylon Hair Artists, based in Duke Street, Reading, appeared in a Telegraph article rounding up the top 50 'best Covid secure' hair and beauty salons.
Owner Claire Higgs spoke to The Chronicle about the fantastic achievement.
2. Map reveals MOST and LEAST healthy areas of Berkshire: Towns ranked
A map indicating the health levels across the UK has highlighted which parts of Berkshire are the most - and least - healthy.
The map, by the Geographic Data Science Lab, measures Access to Health Assets and Hazards (AHAH).
3. Prince Edward visits Reading to recognise performing arts achievements at college
The performing arts industry was given some recognition on Friday as a Royal visited the town.
HRH Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward was shown around Read College in Reading this morning (December 4).
He was introduced to key staff members – with social distancing and face coverings - as well as to discuss future plans the college has for development.
4. Incredible Royal Berkshire Hospital snow scene created on shop window
A wonderful Christmas snow scene of Royal Berkshire Hospital has been painted onto a shop window in Reading thanking key workers.
The design can be seen on the window of Haslams Estate Agents on Friar Street.
The festive scene was designed by Tom from Snow Windows who spent 12 hours on the design.
5. First signs of Covid infection decrease in Reading, public health expert announces
Reading is seeing the first signs of a decrease in infection rates, according to the council’s public health expert.
David Munday, Public Health Consultant for Reading Borough Council (RBC) gave an update this week on the Covid situation in the town on Youtube.
The latest data shows there have been 130 cases per 100,000 people in the last seven days.
