A READING school which has been badly impacted by Covid-19 will be closing temporarily.
Students at the John Madejski Academy, Hartland Road, have been told that the school cannot remain open due to too few staff being available following a coronavirus outbreak amongst teachers.
All year groups will be learning remotely from home for the remainder of the term.
An announcement to parents says that those who claim free school meals will recieve a supermarket voucher to cover lunches for the week.
It concludes: "We are hopeful to be fully open on Monday, January 4, 2021 and please be sure to tell our students we will have a belated Christmas celebration together on their return as well as end of term reward assemblies/ awards."
