1. Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Reading
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the Royal Berkshire Hospital this week as part of their Royal Train Tour.
Whilst there the Royals spoke with several staff members and gave their thanks to those who have been working tirelessly throughout the pandemic to keep our town and population safe.

2. Snow falls in Reading
Reading has its first glimpse of snow this week.

3. Newbury: Chemical attack sees courier suffer burns to his eyes
A postal courier had to receive treatment in hospital after chemicals were thrown at his face by a driver.
Thames Valley Police is appealing for anybody who may have seen the attack in Collins Close and Walton Way, Newbury.

4. Reading food waste bins coming in February following trial ‘success’
Food waste bins and caddies will be delivered to 67,000 homes from January 4 to February 1, 2021, with the new food waste service starting on February 1.
Properties will receive their food waste collections on the same day as either their waste or recycling collections, but most properties will see a change in collection day next year.
5. Tilehurst restaurant Zyka given special recognition for work during pandemic
Popular Indian restaurant Zyka in Tilehurst has been making food deliveries to vulnerable people and offering discounts to NHS staff and care workers during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The restaurant has been honoured with special recognition by leading national Curry trade magazine Curry Life.
