A SOCIAL club in Reading is up for sale and readers have shared their fond memories of the venue.

The Curzon Club on 362 Oxford Road has been put on the market and listed on Rightmove.

Upon hearing the news, our readers have taken to social media to share their memories.

Maria Hurst described its closure as "such a shame" explaining she had "good memories" of bingo with her Grandad at the social club.

Another reader, Nix Steuart, said: "I remember my Dad’s band gigging there many times in the 70’s."

Whilst Louis Lefrancois remembers performing there in the mid 90s.

The club has two separate bars with a dance floor and living accommodation on the first and second floors.

Steven Stokes explained: "I have fond memories growing up there and living in the flat upstairs. Sad to see it close."

The club is on the market for £695,000.
