NEW areas of Reading have seen a spike in Covid cases in the last week.
According to a Gov.UK map showing weekly increases and decreases in cases by area, eight new parts of town have become 'high case areas'.
Meanwhile, the town overall has seen a drop in cases, with three locations in Reading recording far fewer cases.

The map presents cases locally for the latest week available (last week, date ending December 8).
Sonning has seen the biggest increase and the biggest overall rate of cases in the area, with the map indicating by colour the concerning recent trend for the area.
Areas with the biggest increase throughout the week (in the seven days up to December 8 include:
