POLICE and the justice system have been busy in Berkshire this year, with hundreds of criminals put behind bars.
As the year draws to a close, we have rounded up 12 of this year's local criminals from Reading and Bracknell who are currently serving a sentence in jail after being imprisoned throughout 2020.

JANUARY
Dory Herbert, Reading
Dory Herbery ran from police after being caught red-handed dealing drugs while in possession of crack cocaine and a knife.
As a result, he was sentenced on January 6, 2020 to 33 months in prison.
FEBRUARY
Natasha Stevens, Reading
Stevens robbed two 'vulnerable' men, leaving one with a broken hip.
She pleaded guilty to robbing a 77-year-old along with a group of offenders, as well as a second count of robbery, which involved Stevens approaching a 68-year-old man as he withdrew cash at King Street, Reading, and grabbing money from him.
As she took his money, he fell to the ground and suffered a broken hip, which has been a 'life changing' injury for him, the court heard.
CCTV shown in court shows the man attempting to grab his money back from Stevens, before falling and being dragged along as Stevens held on.
She then left with his money.
Stevens was sentenced on February 24 to four years in prison.
MARCH
Ryan Baptiste, Reading
Drug dealer Baptiste was sentenced to three years and four months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of possession with intent to supply heroin and one count of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine.
He was jailed on March 11.
APRIL
Ikram Ali, Reading
Drug dealer Ali was sentenced to three years and eight months' at a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Monday, April 8.
He was sentenced to three years and eight months.
MAY
No criminals from Reading or Bracknell were jailed in May, but this person was sentenced just days into June:
JUNE
Andrew Cook, Reading
Andrew Cook, 30, was convicted of 37 sexual offences involving dozens of boys aged between 13 and 17 at a school in London.
Cook, of Newbury, tricked the boys into getting naked on camera making "pic for pic" requests while posing as a teenage girl.
He was sentenced on June 5 to six years in prison.
JULY
Ruben William Reed, Wokingham
Pictures are not available where a person has been jailed for less than 18 months
Reed targeted elderly and vulnerable homeowners by pressuring them to allow him to carry out unnecessary and overpriced work in their homes.
Director of Warm Roof Group Ltd, Warm Systems Group Ltd, he was sentenced to 66 weeks custody at Reading Crown Court on June 26 after pleading guilty last year to six offences between February to November 2018.
AUGUST
Martin Wilson, Reading
Wilson was jailed for a vicious attack which left a victim with life-changing injuries.
Martin Wilson, 58 of Elvian Close, Reading was sentenced after stabbing a 38-year-old man nine times with a kitchen knife.
He was jailed for 10 years in prison in August.
SEPTEMBER
Bushra Ali, Reading
Ali was jailed on September 30 for wasting more than 250 hours of police time after falsely claiming a man was involved in planned terrorist offences.
She admitted to falsely accusing her brother-in-law, and was sentenced in court to 30 months in jail.
OCTOBER
Anthony Watts, Reading
Aidan Hughes and Callum Fenton, Bracknell
This followed a brutal attack.
Hughes, of Segsbury Grove, Bracknell, was convicted of wounding with intent and admitted possessing a bladed article. He was sentenced to seven years and three months in prison.
Fenton, of Mount Pleasant, Bracknell, was convicted of wounding with intent and admitted conspiracy to supply cocaine and cannabis. He was sentenced to seven years in prison.
NOVEMBER
Matthew Viccars, Reading
Viccars was jailed for a violent attack after stabbing a man three times.
The victim underwent emergency surgery where he had his spleen removed.
Viccars was jailed on November 5 to six years in prison.
DECEMBER
Lewis Szewczyk, Reading
Szewczyk, aged 26, of no fixed abode, was convicted at Reading Crown Court on December 2 after pleading guilty to one count of possession with intent to supply heroin, one count of possession with intent to supply cocaine and one count of possession of criminal property.
He was sentenced to a total of two years and four months’ imprisonment at the same hearing.
