A man who disappeared from a pub he visited in Sonning died after he took his own life, an inquest heard.
Alexander Stern, 36,from Kensington, London was reported missing by Thames Valley Police on January 11 last year.
Four months after his disappearance, Berkshire search and rescue teams discovered his body in the River Thames in Charvil.
On the night Alexander went missing, police shared CCTV images of him carrying a suitcase away from The Bull pub in Sonning at around 7.30pm.
He was also seen inside the pub bar for about an hour.
The force showed images of Mr Stern wheeling a grey suitcase and heading past Coppa Club towards Sonning Bridge on the B478.
An inquest on Monday, January 5, heard how police discovered a rucksack containing Mr Stern’s belongings - but no sign of him.

Alan Blake, assistant coroner for Berkshire, concluded he had died by suicide.
A report into his death said: "He died by drowning having entered the River Thames at Sonning on 11.1.20."
