A new fish and chip shop could replace a long-vacant newsagents in south Reading.
The unit at 232 Northumberland Road was formerly grocers and newsagents Sunny’s Best-one but has been vacant for more than four years.
A licence application has been submitted by Muhammet Alpar to turn the empty site into new restaurant and takeaway Crispy Fish.

Mr Alpar is seeking the following hours for sale of alcohol on and off the premises: Monday – Sunday from 11am to 11pm.
The application was sent to the council on December 29, 2020. Any residents wishing to lend their support or opposition to the plan can do so by emailing or writing to the council before January 26.
