THE MOST common crime areas areas in Reading have been revealed.
Crime stats for the town from the latest month available (December 2020) shows exactly where many of the hundreds of crimes took place - and which parts of the town you may want to avoid.
A total of 459 crimes were reported in central Reading during this time.

Police.UK reveals where the most crime took place, and a break down of every street as well as every specific area - this article will focus on key locations throughout Reading.
Most common crime areas:
1. In or near a supermarket
A total of 33 crimes were reported in or near a supermarket in Reading throughout December 2020.
The most common of these was theft and shoplifting.
2. On or near parking area
A total of 27 crimes were reported on or near a parking area in Reading throughout December 2020.
The most common of these was violence and sexual offences (9).
3. Or or near shopping area
A total of 20 crimes were reported on or near a shopping area in Reading throughout December 2020.
The most common of these was shoplifting (7).

4. On or near a nightclub
Despite clubs being shut for lockdown, a total of 19 crimes were reported close to one in Reading throughout December 2020.
The most common of these was shoplifting (11).
5. On or near a petrol station/ at Reading station
A total of 11 crimes were reported both on or near a petrol station and at Reading Station throughout Reading in December 2020.
The most common near petrol stations was violence and sexual offences (3), while the most common at Reading Station was public order offences (5).
