A new hair salon is coming to the town centre at former Reading Chronicle offices.
The hairdresser will be at Bowman House, 2-10 Bridge Street, next to Reading Borough Council’s (RBC) Civic Offices and near The Oracle shopping centre.
The Reading Chronicle vacated the ground floor offices at Bowman House to downsize from two offices to one and is now located on the basement floor only.

Plans submitted by Piranavan Vimalraj to transform the empty office space into a hairdressing salon/barbers were approved on Monday, February 1.
Under the new class regulations which came in on September 1, 2020, offices and hairdressers fall under the same class and so no change of use was needed.
Therefore, the council has simply approved a Certificate of Lawfulness for the use as a hairdressers.

As well as The Reading Chronicle, Bowman House is also home to Pitman Training, which offers employment support.
