Two people have been arrested after police found a large quantity of drugs and an imitation firearm.
It comes after police have been stepping up stop and search efforts as part of the murder investigation in Tilehurst.
A Section 60 order has been extended and this gives police temporary powers to stop and search anyone within the area on the map below.
Thames Valley Police carried out patrols last night (February 9) as part of the Section 60 order and searched two people near to Oxford Road.
During the search they found a large amount of suspected Class A drugs.
Police also found an imitation firearm.
Two people are now in police custody and enquiries are ongoing.
Thames Valley Police said: "Conducted some targeted patrols this evening under the Section 60 order. 2 persons were searched close to the Oxford Rd with a large quantity of suspected Class A drugs recovered nearby, along with an imitation firearm."
