MORE THAN £90,000 have been raised by residents to help support a little girl going through cancer treatment.

Elara, aged three, has been battling neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer, since her diagnosis in December 2019.

Since she was first taken to hospital, and what was later found to be a tumour in her abdomen that had spread to her bones, little Elara has gone through a number of "hard hitting" chemotherapy rounds before her parents thought she was 'cancer free'.

Tragically however, after her third round of immunotherapy earlier this month, Elara reportedly complained of hip pains, which was again found to be cancer.

In a bid to raise enough money to get the treatment, Nicky Foxley, who lives with her daughter in Henley, started a Gofundme page with an aim of £241,000.

Within 48 hours of being posted online, the fundraiser had £80,000 in donations. It currently stands at £150,639, donated by more than 5,800 donors.

Nicky Foxley, Elara's mum, said: "Its incredible. Im totally shocked. I'm totally overwhelmed by the support and the how far and wide its being spread and the messages of support give me a small bit of hope when I thought there was none."

Nicky explained that the funds would go towards costs for UK-based treatment if possible, followed by a follow-up trial in New York, paying for flights, scans, and medication.

She added: "The generosity is so heartwarming. It's so lovely to see people help where they can.

"Even if they can't donate they are sharing it, and its getting the funds on board to help save my little girl - its just wonderful."
