A FUNDRAISER set up after a man was fatally stabbed in Tilehurst has raised thousands of pounds.
A GoFundMe page has been set up in memory of Raheem Hanif, 26, who was stabbed on February 6.
The money raised will go towards building a water filtration plant in Pakistan to help residents get access to clean water.
The page explained: "The family is going through a very difficult time and is devastated to have lost their son at such a young age.
"Raheem was a family man who always took care of them and those who were in need.
"He was a son, brother, best friend, someone we could confide in during difficult times, and would always call us to do good.
"Now a big piece is missing from our hearts."

It continued: "For the last few years, he dedicated himself to different charity events such as fundraisers for Alzheimer’s Society.
"He was always trying to positively impact society as much as he could and actively donated when possible.
"In light of this, we feel the best way to remember Raheem is to donate to build a Water Filtration Plant in Pakistan."
The fundraiser said the plant will be built in a village called Gatter Tehsil Sohawa District in Jhelum, Pakistan.
The page explained: "Sadly around 40% of deaths every year in Pakistan are due to contaminated water.
"Drinking dirty water can cause diseases such as cholera, dysentery, typhoid, and diarrhoea.
"There is no clean water forcing the residents including women and young children to walk miles for clean filtered water.
"Each water filtration plant provides clean water every single day to an entire village of approximately 5,000 people."

The objective is to build a solar powered water filtration plant in this area, on the land that had been donated in Raheems cause.
The page says the cost of the solar powered water filtration plant is roughly estimated at around £10,000 and the page said any money left will be donated towards feeding the poor and helping hospitals.
So far, £9,461 has been raised.
