A TOTAL of 10 council employees across Berkshire took home £100,000 or more last year, it has been revealed.
Bracknell Forest Council was found to have the most employees receiving remuneration in excess of £100,000 in Berkshire.
The figures, published in the TaxPayers’ Alliance’s 14th Town Hall Rich List, analysed data from councils across the country.

Bracknell Forest Council's chief executive Timothy Wheadon brought home the most money with a salary of £201,000 and a pension of £9,000.
Nikki Edwards, executive director of people, took home a massive £156,000 with a £22,000 pension.
Stuart McKellar, Director of Resources at the authority, said: “Information about senior salaries in the council has always been publicly available. These include all payments before tax and other deductions and are not simply base salaries.

"For example, the Chief Executive’s figures are skewed by there being two elections in that year, for which he acted as the statutory Returning Officer. The salaries for our senior officers are regularly benchmarked against those with similar responsibilities in other councils."

RBWM's chief executive earned £122,952 last year whilst managing director Duncan Sharkey took home £149,000 according to the report.
A council spokesman said: “We benchmark our salaries with other neighbouring authorities and we review this on a regular basis.
“Our salaries reflect the depth of experience officers are bringing to the roles and the authority.”
