A MURDER investigation has been launched after the body of a woman was found in Reading.

A cordon is in place in Laud Close, Reading, following the unexplained death of a woman in her 30s.

It happened about 4.30pm on Friday and the woman's next of kin have been contacted.

Thames Valley Police said a 44-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death and he remains in custody.
