SUPERMARKET chain Lidl has revealed a list of locations where they hope to open across Reading, and five locations are wanted.
The German-owned retailer has rapidly expanded its number of branches in recent years, and the company shows no signs of slowing down in the coming months and years.
The supermarket giant says it plans to double its portfolio’ which already boasts more than 800 sites across the UK.

Its requirements for a site include:
- Units on a main road with easy access and strong footfall or traffic flow
- Freehold, leasehold or long leasehold opportunities
- Unit sizes between 14,000 and 26,500 sq ft
- 1.5 acres for a shop or four acres for joint developments with other businesses
Lidl already has two stores in Reading and one in Newbury, West Berkshire.

These are the locations Lidl wants to have supermarkets in:
- Thatcham
- Caversham
- Winnersh
- Woodley
- Tilehurst
- Newbury
