A 27-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a one-month-old baby in Newbury.
James Lawton, of Boreham Field, Warminster, Wiltshire, appeared at Reading Magistrates Court this morning.
The 27-year-old, who appeared in a grey police-issue uniform, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.

Police were called to an address in Fountain Gardens in Ashridge Court on Saturday, May 9 2020 following reports a one-month-old baby was in cardiac arrest.
The baby was taken to hospital for treatment but later died.
On May 14, 2020, a man and a woman from Newbury were arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the investigation.
They were later released on bail.

Yesterday, (May 25), they were both re-arrested and Lawton was charged with one count of murder and grievous bodily harm in relation to the incident.
The 25-year-old woman was released on bail.
Lawton has been remanded in custody and appeared at Reading Magistrates Court today.
District Judge Steen adjourned the hearing to Reading Crown Court, where Lawton will appear tomorrow (May 27).
