POLICE closed off a major road in the town centre following the 'unexplained' and 'sudden' death of a woman on Bridge Street.
Officers - alongside the ambulance service - were called to the Riverside Car Park at around 3pm this afternoon.
They were called following the 'unexplained' and 'sudden' death of a woman on Bridge Street.
People are being asked to avoid the area after police closed off a road at the Oracle roundabout.
A Thames Valley Police statement read: "Thames Valley Police was called at 3.12pm today (31/5), along with the ambulance service, to the Riverside Car Park in Bridge Street, Reading, following the sudden death of a woman.
"There is a scene watch in place and a road closure at the Oracle roundabout.
We would ask the public to please avoid the area.
"This is being treated as unexplained and non-suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
