The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:
March 11:
SAMANTHA LANE, 39, of Laburnum Gardens, Reading, admitted failing to comply with the supervision requirements imposed following release from prison - namely by not attending appointments on April 7,2020, April 24, 2020, May 1, 2020, and May 7, 2020. Fined £200.
SHAUNKH HALAMA, 45, of Swainstone Road, Reading, convicted of not having a ticket for train travel in Reading on December 6, 2020. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £21.20 compensation. Also ordered to pay £150 court costs.
JAMES HOUSE, 27, of Foxglove Gardens, Reading, convicted of not having a ticket for train travel in Reading on December 2, 2020. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £4 compensation. Also ordered to pay £150 court costs.
ROBERT MCCRACKEN, 20, of Beatty Rise, Reading, convicted of not having a ticket for train travel in Reading on November 27, 2020. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £2 compensation. Also ordered to pay £150 court costs.
SHANE SMITH, 26, of Rhine Close, Reading, convicted of not having a ticket for train travel in Reading on November 19, 2020. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £9.70 compensation. Also ordered to pay £150 court costs.
ETHAN WEEDON, 24, of Pritchard Close, West Berkshire, convicted of not having a ticket for train travel in Reading on November 10, 2020. Fined £220 and ordered to pay £9.70 compensation. Also ordered to pay £150 court costs.
March 12:
REBECCA SMITH, 39, of Pinchcut, West Berkshire, admitted three charges of assault by beating in Reading on November 9, 2019. Also admitted assault by beating of an emergency worker on November 9, 2019 in Reading on the same date. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and must also carry out 120 ours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £300 compensation, £95 victim surcharge and £300 court costs.
A fundamental principle of justice is that it must be seen to be done.
