A YOUNGSTER pretending he was on a driving lesson has been arrested after police found him behind the wheel while high on cocaine and cannabis.
Officers stopped a Volkswagen Polo in Tilehurst on Saturday (June 12) and the driver stated he was on a driving lesson -- but it transpired they had only applied for their provisional licence.
And when police asked them to do a saliva test they tested positive for cocaine and cannabis.

He was arrested for “several offences”, Thames Valley Police said, and could be banned from driving before they have even had the change to pass their driving test.
The passenger in the car -- who claimed he was the driver’s supervisor -- told police he knew the youngster wasn’t insured to drive.
They were reported to court for allegedly aiding and abetting a person to drive without a licence and could face a large fine if guilty.
