AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after the body of a man was found in a street in Reading.
Thames Valley Police said officers were called to Abbey Street at about 7.30pm last night (June 27) where the man was found dead.
The force said the man's next of kin are yet to have been identified and the man has not been formally identified.
It is currently being treated as an 'unexplained death' and officers continue to investigate the circumstances.
Police do believe the man may have been with another man earlier in the evening and are looking to speak with him to help with more information.
The death is not believed to be suspicious.
Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Rich Jarvis, based at Reading police station, said: “Currently we are carrying out a thorough investigation to establish how the man died, however at this time we do not believe it to be suspicious.
“I am appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Abbey Street last night to please get in touch.
“From initial enquiries, we believe another man may have been with the deceased man earlier that evening and so may be able to help with our investigation. If you know who this is or believe that it is you, I would also ask that you please come forward.
“Anyone with information can contact Thames Valley Police calling 101 or making a report online, quoting reference 43210283663.
