UPDATE - Woman given trial date in connection to death of baby in Newbury
A WOMAN has been charged in connection with the death of a one-month-old baby which happened last year in Newbury.
Thames Valley Police launched a murder investigation after baby Colby Lawton died on May 9, 2020, in Newbury, West Berkshire.
Chantelle Stroud, 25, of Ashridge Court, Newbury, has been charged today (June 29) with one count of causing or allowing the death of a child, and one count of assault, ill-treatment, neglect, or abandoning a child to cause unnecessary suffering.

Stroud will appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court today.
Police also charged James Lawton, 27, of Boreham Field, Warminster, Wiltshire on Tuesday, May 25, with one count of murder and one count of GBH with intent in relation to the incident.
