A MAN was threatened with a Stanley knife and had his watch and wallet stolen by a robber in Reading.

The victim was walking along De Beauvoir Road towards London Road on Saturday, July 3 at 11.30pm when he was approached by a man.

The culprit asked the victim, a 29-year-old man, for the time and when the victim told him the time he demanded his watch.

Police said the victim refused to give him his watch and then he was threatened with a Stanley knife, which he threatened the victim with while demanding the victim’s possessions.

The offender made off with the victim’s watch and wallet. Fortunately, the victim was not hurt.

The offender is described as a white man, slim build and over 30 years old.

He is about 5ft 10ins tall and was wearing dark coloured tracksuit bottoms at the time of the incident.

He was also wearing a dark blue hoody with the hood up and a blue Covid-19 facemask, which covered half of his face.

The watch that was stolen is a Bulova Sport Chronograph Men’s Two Tone Bracelet Watch. The watch face is blue and the bracelet is silver and gold in colour.

The wallet that was stolen is light grey and leather with ‘Diesel’ branded on the bottom of it.

Investigating officer PC Philip Marchant of the Incident & Crime Response team based at Reading police station said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who might have seen or heard this incident.

“Thames Valley Police takes the threat to public safety that knife crime poses very seriously. We urge anyone who might have information on the offender to contact us. We also urge anyone who might have seen the stolen wallet and watch to get in contact.
