The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:

April 16
NATHAN KIRK, 42, of St Mary’s Road, Newbury, was convicted of assault by beating in Newbury on January 17, 2021. He was ordered to take part in rehabilitation activities, must pay £100 compensation and costs of £200. 
NICKY SMITH, 39, of Pigeon’s Farm Road, Newbury, was convicted of assault by beating in Newbury on January 17, 2021. He was ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work, must pay £100 compensation and court costs of £350. 
AARON GODDARD, 36, of Ravensbourne Drive, Woodley, admitted to driving a vehicle that exceeded the legal weight limit (3,500kg). He was fined £246, ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and court costs of £175. 

April 19
RHYS LEWENDON-KIRKWOOD, 25, of London Road, Newbury, admitted to using threatening behaviour to cause harassment or distress in Thatcham on June 24, 2020. He was sentenced to prison for eight weeks due to the severity of the offence. He was also ordered to pay a £122 victim surcharge. 
SONNER TODD, 47, of Curzon Street, Reading, convicted of using threatening behaviour to cause harassment or distress in Reading on June 15, 2020. He was sentenced to prison for 26 weeks due to the severity of the offence. Also ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge and court costs of £770. 
KEVIN GOODMAN, 36, of Montacute Road, Thatcham, admitted two counts of assault by beating in Newbury on September 18, 2020. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months, ordered to pay £200 compensation, a victim surcharge of £22, and court costs of £85. 
OLIVER CRAWFORD, 21, of Church Street, Theale, admitted to failing to comply with a community order in November and December 2020. He was fined £50 and told to pay court costs of £75. 
LILLY BLACK, 35, of Westfield Road, Thatcham, admitted failing to comply with a supervision order in January and February 2021. She was fined £50 and told to pay court costs of £60. 
PAUL COLLIER, 38, of London Road, Newbury, admitted failing to comply with a community order on two occasions in March 2021. He was told to pay court costs of £60. 

April 20
TREVOR REILLY, 48, of Kingston Close, Reading, admitted drink-driving on Baker Street in Reading on August 3, 2020. He was caught with 56 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 35mcg. He was banned from driving for 14 months, fined £120, made to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and ordered to pay court costs of £500. 
CONNALL BASCOMBE-MCCARTHY, 28, of Byworth Close, Reading, admitted remaining on premises in breach of a closure order on March 20, 2021. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months, made to pay a £22 victim surcharge and ordered to pay costs of £85. 
FLORIN MITRIC, 37, of Knowle Road, Woodley, admitted drink-driving in Reading Road, Wokingham, on March 19, 2021. He was caught with 77 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 35mcg. He also admitted to driving without a licence and driving without insurance. He was banned from obtaining a driving licence for 18 months, fined £120, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and told to pay court costs of £85. 
OMAR BROWN, 39, of Oxford Road, Newbury, admitted drink-driving on Oxford Road, Newbury, on March 22, 2021. He was caught with 56 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 35mcg. He was banned from driving for 36 months, fined £200, ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge, and made to pay court costs of £85. 
THOMAS KIRBY, 34, of Cheap Street, Newbury, admitted drink-driving on Bath Road in Hungerford on July 8, 2020. He was caught with 64 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 35mcg. He was banned from driving for 18 months, fined £400, told to pay a victim surcharge of £40 and made to pay court costs of £250. 


A fundamental principle of justice is that it must be seen to be done.
