WITH the scorching heatwave and sizzling temperatures, there's nothing more appealing right now than taking a dip in a pool.
The Met Office issued an extreme heat warning yesterday and it is in place until Thursday.
As the days get hotter, it only feels appropriate to find a lido or outdoor public pool to cool off in.
So we've rounded up some of the best pools, lidos and waterparks that are either in, or close to, Berkshire.

1. Christchurch Paddling Pool
Address: Reading RG1 8QT
If you live in Reading then why not visit this pool to cool off during the heatwave.
Reading Borough Council said it will be staffed daily between 10am to 5pm, until 31st August.
The council said: "We know people are keen to use the paddling pool during the summer months and with the warm weather this week, it will be a welcome return for this well-used riverside facility for families across Reading."

2. Thames LIDO
Address: Napier Road, Reading, RG1 8FR
This gorgeous and luxurious outdoor heated pool is designed to leave you feeling fresh and energised.
As of Monday, July 19, non-members are welcome to use the pool, sauna and hot tub. You can pre-book a two hour session for £20 starting from 10am.
Booking slots are open every hour until 3pm (max of 6 people per time slot) and it i available 7 days a week.
There is even a Tapas bar serving Spanish and Mediterranean food adding to the ‘holiday’ atmosphere of the venue.
3. Splash pad at Great Hollands Recreation Ground
Address: South Rd, Bracknell, RG40 3EE
This lovely free facility in Bracknell is great for families to have some fun during the heatwave.
The Pavilion (open most weekends and school holidays, but subject to closure in inclement weather) has public toilets and a coffee shop offering light refreshments.
There is a children’s play area and splash pad perfect for the little one's to cool off!
4. Jocks Lane Splash Pad
Address:Binfield Road, Bracknell
Another public facility where you can cool down is the splash pad at Jocks Lane.
In recent days, Bracknell Town Centre had to repair the splash pad due to vandalism but it was repaired yesterday (Tuesday, July 20).
It's perfect for kids to run and around and have fun in the water on a hot summer's day.
5. Splash pool at California Country Park
Address: Nine Mile Ride, Finchampstead, Wokingham RG40 4HU
The paddling pool in California Country Park is well worth a visit this week, if you haven't already.
Visitors are invited to cool off as the weather hots up at the scenic family-friendly park.
It is open daily, 10am to 6pm and the cost for anyone entering the water is £2.50 per person.
Pool tickets can be purchased through the car park machines using correct change or at Jackson’s Café, California Country Park
6. Liquid Leisure Windsor
Address: Horton Rd, Datchet, Slough SL3 9HY
If you fancy a challenge and want something different then you'll want to visit this fresh water lake aqua park near Windsor.
There's wakeboarding, or have a go on the fun floating obstacle course. There's an array of boat activities or you can sunbathe on the sandy beach.
All bookings must be made in advance on the website .
7. Caversham Lakes
Address: Henley Rd, Caversham, Reading RG4 9RA
Another water park to visit is Caversham Lakes, which offers a wide range of activities from open water swimming, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, an aqua park and family beach with an onsite cafe and bar serving food and drinks throughout the day.
It gets very busy though so check before booking.
8. Paddling Pool
Address: Lower Basildon, Pangbourne, Reading RG8 9NW
As well as adorable animals, Beale Park has an outdoor paddling pool perfect for splashing around and cooling off on a hot day.
It's the ultimate place to be for a day out with the kids - they will love it.
There is also a brand new bouncy pillow, adventure playground, a zip wire and rope play.
9. Coral Reef Bracknell's Waterworld
Address: Nine Mile Ride, Bracknell RG12 7JQ
Complete with thrilling waterslides and a large pirate ship, this fun indoor water park is the perfect place to visit if you want to stay out of the scorching sun.
The adults can also relax in the Coral Spa area to unwind from all of the half-term madness.
Sessions will continue to be online booking only via the website or Everyoneactive app.
