Reading FC fans are becoming increasingly frustrated by the current financial situation the club finds itself in.

The club have been unable to bring in new players over the summer period due to an embargo placed upon the club by the EFL for breaching financial stability rules.

Veljko Paunovic named just five substitutes on the bench out of an available seven for the opening day defeat to Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.

After the match, the manager reiterated once more that no progress had been made in discussion with the EFL as Reading continues to remain at loggerheads with the governing body.

Reading fans are now calling on both senior officials at the club and the EFL to provide an update on the current situation.

The Supporters Trust At Reading (STAR) has begun asking for questions from Royals fans to put to the club at the upcoming Structured Dialogue Meeting.

Concerns have been raised about the imminent future in this transfer window and the club's long-term financial situation and the implications current restrictions could have in the coming years.

Supporters also want more dialogue with club owner Dai Yonnge.

The Chinese businessman has not spoken to the media since taking over at the club in 2017.

Manager Veljko Paunovic said last week that he remains in contact with Mr Yonnge over the summer.

Despite this, Reading fans are understandably unhappy with how long they have been kept in the dark over his future plans for the club.

Supporters are also urging the EFL to give the club the green light to bring in reinforcements during the transfer window, with Paunovic's squad appearing noticeably light at the start of the new season.
