CONCERNS have once again been raised about boy-racers tearing up Prospect Park on fast, small vehicles.

The Chronicle reported one resident’s worries in April 2021 (see video at top of page) when he recorded youngsters using go-kart-type off-road vehicles and mopeds to zip across the park.

And now more youngsters have been caught on camera after racing across the green space, which is popular with dog walkers and families.

Debra, a regular park user, told the Chronicle: “They don't slow down when near dogs or walkers.

“There are a lot of people absolutely fed up with it, it's been nearly every day through the holidays.

“They literally race through the three parks but tend to congregate and come from Honey End Lane end through towards the main car park.

“When you have dogs running about it does make me feel unsafe as they don't slow down or veer away from people.

“They do several wheelies at speed and spins, if it wasn't so dry they would plough up the grass.

“They have no regard for pedestrians and go through from one field to the next where there are trees dividing the fields at speed not knowing what or who might be on the other side.”
