The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:
May 28
HANNAH BURROWES, 36, of Poole Close, Tilehurst, admitted criminal damage of a hotel door and glasses at Cantley House Hotel, Wokingham, worth £260, on September 20, 2020. Also admitted to assault of an emergency worker in Wokingham on the same date. Ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work, pay compensation of £100, and £180 court fees.
May 31
TANNA SINGH, 41, of Coleman Moors Road, Woodley, admitted breaching supervision requirements following release from prison. She was sentenced to prison for 14 days.
SHADRACK YEBOAH, 32, of De Beauvoir Road, admitted causing harassment, alarm, or distress by using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Reading on May 29, 2021. Fined £40 and ordered to pay £50 in court fees.
June 1
MATTHEW LUGG, 19, of Kennedy Meadow, Hungerford, admitted driving under the influence of cannabis and ketamine at Lambourn Woods on November 20, 2020. Also admitted possession of cannabis on the same date. Banned from driving for 12 months, fined £400, ordered to pay £125 in court fees.
DEAN PORTER, 37, of Zinzan Street, Reading, admitted sending an offensive message in Reading on March 11, 2020. Fined £150 and ordered to pay £722 in court fees.
JAMES LAYLEY, 35, of Loundyes Close, Reading, admitted assault by beating and common assault in Newbury on March 25, 2021. Sentenced to 18 weeks in prison due to the severity of the offence. Ordered to pay £628 in court fees.
JOSHUA LEISHMAN, 27, of Bodin Gardens, Newbury, convicted of assault by beating on Newtown Road, Newbury, on June 19, 2020. Fined £120 and ordered to pay £184 in court fees.
MARK WHEELER, 35, of Ashmore Road, convicted of assault by beating in Reading on March 14, 2020. Fined £150 and ordered to pay £342 in court fees.
SUSAN CHARLES, 61, of Haden Square, Reading, admitted one count of assault by beating in Reading on August 10, 2020. Ordered to pay £100 compensation and £127 in court fees.
HARPREET PANDHER, 41, of Tinsley Close, Lower Earley, Reading, convicted of soliciting persons to hire a vehicle to carry them as passengers on Friar Street, Reading, on September 1, 2019. Also convicted of refusing to show private hire vehicle driver’s badge when requested and obstructing an officer by providing a false address to an authorised officer. Fined £1,050 and ordered to pay court fees of £2,150.
June 2
JASON EVANS, 40, of Duke Street, Reading, admitted attempted theft from a vehicle on June 19, 2020. Also admitted theft from a shop, namely WH Smith in Reading, February 21, 2021. Sentenced to 12 weeks in prison due to the severity of the offence.
LEE ABERY, 34, of Bartholomew Street, Newbury, admitted three counts of resisting a constable in the execution of their duty at Padworth on October 12, 2020. Also admitted assault of an emergency worker, namely a police officer, in Padworth on the same date. Ordered to pay compensation of £250 and court fees of £95.
EMILY CRAIG, 28, of Abrahams Road, admitted being in charge of a dog, namely a Daschund named Jeffrey, that was dangerously out of control in Sonning on August 4, 2020. Court ordered the dog to be destroyed within 21 days unless an appeal lodged as the dog has bitten on three occasions. Craig sentenced to prison for 26 weeks suspended for 18 months, and ordered to pay £2,500 compensation and £85 in court fees.
DARREN DERWIN, 49, of Horne Road, Thatcham, admitted driving whilst disqualified on Brimpton Common, Reading, on January 25, 2021 and to driving without insurance on the same date. Ordered to take part in rehabilitation activity. Also made to pay £180 in court fees.
