UPDATE: Good news as town centre chippy confirms its not closing
READING town centre's only fish and chip shop appears to be closed down.
Mr Chips next to Broad Street Mall in Oxford Road, Reading is not open today like it usually is.
The takeaway appears to be boarded up although its business information on Google says it is open.
Mr Chips specialises in traditional fish and chip and is the only restaurant providing the cuisine in the town centre.

They also specialise in bubble tea, which has grown in popularity amongst residents over the years.
This year, the chip shop was also recognised in the Good Food Awards as one of the best places to eat in the country.

Mr Chips won alongside The Tasty Plaice in Park Lane, Tilehurst.
