The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:

June 15:

PETER CRIPPS, 40, of Cromwell Road, Newbury, admitted to theft from a shop in Pangbourne on February 25, 2021. Conditional discharge for 12 months. Ordered to pay £62 in court fees. 

LEE TAYLOR, 50, of Battle Street, Reading, admitted drink driving on Henley Road, Reading, on December 6, 2020. Caught with 85 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 35mcg per 100ml. Banned from driving for 18 months. Fined £415 and ordered to pay £126 in court fees. 

SEAN RANDELL, 36, of Blackdown Way, Thatcham, admitted drink driving on Crookham Hill, Thatcham on May 22, 2021. Caught with 54 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 35mcg per 100ml. Also admitted to driving without insurance, licence and valid test certificate. Banned from driving for 46 months. Fined £240 and ordered to pay £119 in court fees. 

VIJAYA TADURI, 53, of Fawn Drive, Reading, admitted drink driving on May 22, 2021, on Church Road, Wokingham. Caught with 96 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 35mcg per 100ml. Banned from driving for 23 months. Fined £1,666 and ordered to pay £252 in court fees. 

BILAL KHAN, 28, of Grays Crescent, Woodley, admitted driving without insurance on Saint Peters Road, Reading, on August 8, 2020. Driving record endorsed with nine points. Fined £660 and ordered to pay £166 in court fees. 

 

June 16:

GRZEGORZ DREWS, 40, of Hornbeam Drive, Earley, Reading, convicted of driving under the influence of MDMA on South Road, Wokingham on June 29, 2019. Convicted of driving under the influence of amphetamine on Barkham Road, Wokingham on September 27, 2019 and driving whilst disqualified and without insurance. Also convicted of failing to surrender at Reading Magistrates’ Court on December 7, 2020 and on June 14, 2021. Sentenced to 24 weeks in prison due to severity of offence, as defendant ‘has a flagrant disregard for court orders’, and because of risk to the public. Ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge. 

NYASHA THOMAS, 32, of Strathy Close, Tilehurst, admitted contravening a closure order by entering a closed premises, namely Wrenswood Close, on June 15, 2021. Sentenced to prison for 21 days due to the severity of the offence as ‘defendant has a flagrant disregard for court orders’. Ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge. 

BOBBY TURNER, 39, of Wrenswood Close, Reading, admitted drink driving on Hagley Road, Reading, on January 6, 2021. Caught with 40 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 35mcg per 100ml. Fined £200 and ordered to pay £119 in court fees. Banned from driving for 12 months. 

DANIEL SIMMONDS, 31, of School Road, Tilehurst, admitted theft from a shop, namely stealing two bottles of prosecco from Sainsbury’s petrol station in Reading, on April 19, 2021. Also admitted driving without insurance on Constitution Road on April 25, 2021. Driving record endorsed with six points. Conditional discharge for 18 months. Ordered to pay £38.75 in compensation and £85 in costs. 

KEIRON EVANS, 21, of Mason Street, Reading, admitted causing criminal damage to a car worth £450 in Reading on August 10, 2020. Conditional discharge for 12 months. Ordered to pay £200 compensation and £22 victim surcharge. 

June 17:

DAVID BROWN, 57, of St Stephens Court, Reading, breached a domestic violence protection order on June 17, 2021. Fined £100. 

KERRY BOURNE, 44, of Boscawen Way, Thatcham, admitted sending an offensive message on or before September 29, 2020. Sentenced to nine weeks in prison suspended for 18 months due to the severity of the offence. Ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work and handed a restraining order barring contact with victim. Ordered to pay compensation of £250 and court fees of £213. 

ASHLEIGH MEAGER, 24, of London Road, Thatcham, admitted sending an offensive message on or before September 29, 2020.  Community order made. Requirement to carry out 250 hours of unpaid work and handed a restraining order barring contact with victim. Ordered to pay £125 compensation and £180 in court fees. 

ALEX STALKER, 27, of North View, Hungerford, convicted of assault by beating in Newbury on January 8, 2021. Fined £40, ordered to pay compensation of £50 and told to pay £34 victim surcharge. 

 

June 18:

HAJI ALI, 38, of Derwent Road, Thatcham, admitted being the person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control, namely a Japanese Akita that injured a man in Newbury on July 26, 2020. Committed to prison for 16 weeks suspended for 18 months. Ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work. Told to pay £550 in compensation, a £128 victim surcharge and £85 costs. 

 

June 19:

ALFIE LEECH, 33, of Lower Way, Thatcham, admitted driving without a licence and without insurance on Lower Way, Thatcham on June 18, 2021. Fined £300 and ordered to pay £115 in court fees. Driving record endorsed with six points.
