A new late-night Asian tea house could be coming to Reading, with a licence application submitted seeking permission to open a new café until 5am.
An application was submitted to Reading Borough Council (RBC) last week by 29Stars to open Chaaye Paani at 4 Cholsey House, Moulsford Mews, and served hot food and drink from 8am to 5am.
When serving hot food or drink between 11pm and 5am, a Late Night Refreshment licence is needed.

Cholsey House is located just off Oxford Road and near to the Tesco Extra.
Chaaye Paani would take over from the vacant Melody Melody beauty and nail salon and would next door to both Subway and Papa Johns.
The chain, which has stores in Birmingham, Bradford, Huddersfield and Dewsbury and planned new stores in Reading, Sheffield and Luton, serves:
Hot drinks such as chai and coffee
Cold drinks such as mango lassi and nimbu paani
Street food such as samosa and seekh kebab
Donuts, desserts and patisseries
Chaaye Paani says it prides itself on high quality products, opens late, and offers kerbside service.
